Potential Camp Cuts Who Could Resurface as Fantasy Assets in 2025–2026

NFL training camps are here, and with them come tough roster decisions for teams—and dynasty managers alike. Every year, a few surprising veterans and fringe players get cut, only to resurface on another roster and carve out fantasy relevance. Here are five players who could fit that mold in 2025–26.

Trey Palmer — WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers wide receiver room is suddenly crowded. With Chris Godwin returning healthy, Mike Evans still producing, and rookies Emeka Egbuka and Tez Johnson joining 2024 standout Jalen McMillan, Palmer could find himself the odd man out. His speed and ability to stretch the field would make him an intriguing addition elsewhere.

Kendrick Bourne — WR, New England Patriots

New England added a slew of new receivers this offseason, including Stephon Diggs, Mack Hollins, and rookie Kyle Williams. They join last year’s rookies Javon Baker and Ja’Lynn Polk, plus veterans Kayshon Boutte and Demario Douglas. Bourne is coming off injury and might get squeezed out, but his versatility and reliability could make him a contributor on a WR-needy team.

Taysom Hill — TE, New Orleans Saints

Hill is coming back from injury and may no longer fit the Saints’ plans as they transition offensively. But there’s a natural landing spot if he’s cut—Denver. Sean Payton, who originally unlocked Hill’s Swiss Army knife role, is still there and could revive his fantasy value if the Broncos give him a look.

Khalil Herbert — RB, Indianapolis Colts

Herbert arrived in Indy as depth behind Jonathan Taylor, but the Colts drafted D.J. Giddens this year and appear to prefer Tyler Goodson as a backup. If Herbert gets released, he has shown enough in Chicago and Indianapolis to find another home and play his way back into a rotational or injury-replacement role.

Allen Lazard — WR, New York Jets

Lazard’s role has been in question all offseason. The Jets added Josh Reynolds, Tyler Johnson, and rookie Arian Smith to a group that already includes Garrett Wilson, Malachi Corley, and Xavier Gipson. Lazard might not make it through camp, but his experience and rapport with Aaron Rodgers could make him a useful midseason pickup for the Steelers.

Keep an eye on these names during cuts—sometimes opportunity knocks just a little later than expected.
