Cole Anthony Agrees to Buyout, Plans to Sign With Bucks

Guard Cole Anthony has agreed to a contract buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies and plans to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks once he clears waivers, sources told ESPN Saturday night.

Anthony was acquired by Memphis earlier this offseason in the blockbuster Desmond Bane trade that sent Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Anthony, and five picks to the Grizzlies. A proven scoring guard, Anthony averaged 12.5 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds over five seasons with Orlando. He’s ranked among the league’s top five in bench points and assists in each of the last three years.

In Milwaukee, Anthony could see a sizable role. The Bucks currently lack a true starting point guard, with Gary Trent Jr. and Kevin Porter Jr. penciled in as starting guards. Anthony’s ability to create offense and push tempo makes him a strong fit for a team looking to maximize its window around Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Fantasy Impact

Anthony is worth adding where available and is a sneaky trade target in dynasty leagues — possibly worth flipping a late second-round pick in a 12‑team league if his role solidifies in Milwaukee’s rotation.
