Trending Now: 07/10/2025 - Chimere Dike New Role Awaits
A New Role Could Be Waiting for Chimere Dike at the Pro Level
“The thing about Dike is how much I expect his role in the NFL to change from how he was used in college. At Florida, his usage was pretty disgusting. I’m not sure anybody was forced to run a further distance in 2024 than Dike was, who apparently was required to run no less than 40 yards every time he was in the route. He was on that Cardio King diet, running deep crossers until the cows come home,” said Easton Freeze of A to Z Sports.
That won’t be his role with the Titans. According to Freeze, “I actually think they’d like him to develop into a starting role as a big slot option, utilizing his speed and acceleration up the middle of the field. He’ll play on the outside as well and has three-position versatility in that way, but I think we’ll see a lot more of him aligned inside and running a more diverse route tree than he did at Florida.”
If that’s the case, Dike’s fantasy value could shoot up. Previously seen as a pure deep threat and returner — more valuable to real football than fantasy — he now has a clear path to developing into a legitimate starting wide receiver for the Titans. Any chemistry he can build with rookie quarterback Cam Ward will be vital, and the opportunity is there for him to earn a significant role.
For context, here’s a snapshot of their 2024 production:
- Chimere Dike (Florida) 2024: 42 rec., 783 yds., 2 TDs
- Cam Ward (Miami) 2024: 4313 yds., 39 TDs, 7 INTs
The Tyler Lockett signing by Tennessee also signals this intent. With Lockett filling the true outside deep-threat role early in Ward’s career, the team appears to be grooming Dike for a more versatile, high-usage slot and Z-receiver role over time.
Fantasy Take:
Dike is a buy at cost and an add wherever available. Hold him and monitor how his role develops through training camp and the early season. If he earns regular slot work and builds trust with Ward, he could quickly outproduce his current price in dynasty and deep redraft formats.
