Summer League Recap: Timberwolves Top Suns Behind Balanced Attack

The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Phoenix Suns 96–85 in Summer League play, with several young players making their mark on both ends of the floor.

Suns Standouts

Ryan Dunn — Active defensively with 3 steals and a block, but struggled offensively (9 points, 3/13 shooting). His defensive versatility remains his calling card.

Rasheer Fleming — A spark off the bench, adding 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. His energy and rebounding stood out in limited minutes.

Oso Ighodaro — Efficient inside with 17 points, 6 boards, and 4 assists. Played with poise and toughness in the paint.

Khaman Maluach — Added 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks, flashing defensive upside and some floor spacing with 2 made threes.

Timberwolves Standouts

Joan Beringer — Quiet but impactful, providing defense and rebounding with 7 points, 5 boards, and a block. Showed good positioning on both ends.

Leonard Miller — Led the frontcourt with 22 points and 11 rebounds, dominating the glass and scoring efficiently.

Rob Dillingham — Explosive as ever, pouring in 23 points with 7 assists, controlling the pace and creating offense at will.

Scout’s Take

Dunn and Fleming bring defensive intensity that translates, though Dunn’s offensive game still lags. Meanwhile, Minnesota’s trio of Dillingham, Miller, and Beringer gives them a nice mix of flash and fundamentals moving forward.
