Lawson, Richardson Shine, and Murray-Boyles Contributes as Raptors Edge Magic

The Toronto Raptors held off a late rally to beat the Orlando Magic 89–86 in Summer League play, powered by a stellar performance from A.J. Lawson, steady contributions from Collin Murray-Boyles, and clutch play from Jase Richardson, while Noah Penda dominated the glass for Orlando.

A.J. Lawson was the star of the night, scoring 21 points on a perfect 5-for-5 shooting, including 2-of-2 from three and 9-of-13 from the free throw line. He added 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, showing his ability to score efficiently and defend on the perimeter.

In the frontcourt, Collin Murray-Boyles (CMB) delivered a strong two-way game, finishing with 8 points on 3-of-5 shooting, plus 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and a block. His activity on both ends helped Toronto control the paint and force turnovers.


For the Magic, rookie guard Jase Richardson kept his team competitive with 19 points on 5-of-10 shooting, knocking down 8-of-9 free throws and dishing out 4 assists. Richardson displayed his poise and shot creation under pressure.

Inside, Noah Penda was a force on the boards, grabbing a game-high 14 rebounds to go with 9 points, 3 steals, and a block. His energy and defensive presence kept Orlando close despite Toronto’s hot shooting.

The Raptors also saw Tristan da Silva contribute 18 points and 5 rebounds for Orlando in a balanced effort.

Lawson’s scoring versatility and defensive energy make him a name to watch in Toronto’s rotation. Murray-Boyles continues to impress with his two-way motor and ability to create extra possessions. Richardson shows promise as a lead guard, and Penda’s rebounding and defense give him sleeper upside as a high-energy big.
